Lowry who joined Miami in 2021, hasn’t been as sharp as he was during his All-Star days with the Toronto Raptors. He is averaging 8.2 points 3.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game this season. His shooting percentage is 42.6% overall and 38.5% on 3-pointers. Even though he started 35 of 37 games for Miami, playmaking duties were often passed to Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and others.
Miami has had a tough time scoring this season. They are 26th in points per game (110.9), 16th in 3-pointers made (12.4 per game) 20th in offensive rating (113.4) and 17th in true shooting percentage (58%). Lowry, a 6-time All-Star and 2019 NBA champion with Toronto, was the starter in his first 35 games with the Heat this season, although he was taken out of the starting lineup last week leading to speculation that Miami His time may also end.
Lowry is currently on a $29.7 million contract that expires soon, while Rozier, who is 29, is making $23.2 million this season and is committed for two more seasons.
The Hornets are in third-worst place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 10–31. They are focused on the future, building around their young core led by star guard LaMelo Ball and rookie Brandon Miller.
